10/24/2003 Gooo Fighttttttttt Winnnnnnnn TIPS FOR BACK HANDSPRING Do plenty of stretches because you are more likely to hurt yourself tumbling than in any other element of cheerleading. For a standing back handspring, make sure that your feet are firmly planted on the ground, your hands are in the air with your palms to the sky. You should also be looking at your hands throughout the back handspring. Also, while learning, do not try this without a spot until you are completely sure that your can support your body weight when flipping backwards. Confidence - know you can do it. Be confident and have a good attitude.[More]
